The Geek’s Take

Webroot’s SecureAnywhere Complete is basically a combination of Webroot’s SecureAnywhere Antivirus and SecureAnywhere Internet Security, providing protection from viruses, malware, spyware, rootkits, trojans, worms and much more – all you could possibly want or need. The addition of 25GB of online storage and a license for up to 5 PCs are nice bonuses. A nice set of support options including phone, email, Twitter, and Facebook along with some remarkable performance stats and crazy fast scan times make this our Editor’s Choice in this category.

Protection

Webroot’s SecureAnywhere Complete combines the level of protection of two of Webroot’s premier security suites - SecureAnywhere Antivirus and SecureAnywhere Internet Security. This means that not only will be you be protected from the tradional viruses, worms, trojans, spyware, rootkits, and all other malware, but you’ll also be protected when surfing the web from online attacks, helping to keep your identity and other critical data secure from the malfeasance of the world. Email protection from phishing attacks and a spam filter are included as well.

But all those layers of protection wouldn’t mean squat if they weren’t backed by good, thorough scan. Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete doesn’t just provide a traditional scheduled or on demand scan, but also offers boot up and real-time scans as well to keep malware from taking up root in your system in the first place.

For a fully itemized list of what protection Webroot’s SecureAnywhere Complete provides, check out this chart.

Performance

Traditionally, antivirus solutions tend to be horrible resource hogs, often slowing down all but the most powerful PCs. Webroot builds their security software to not only be mean, but lean as well. SecureAnywhere Complete uses a tiny fraction of the RAM that the competition uses, both at idle and while performing a scan. Check out these numbers, using our Highly Rated selections Norton 360 and Trend Micro Titanium Maximum as controls:

Webroot Norton Trend Micro
Memory Usage (Idle) 3.2MB 23.9MB 93.8MB
Memory Usage (Scan) 17.5MB 131MB 115.3MB

Another performance metric where Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete dominates is in scan time, clocking in at under 1.5 minutes in our tests for a full scan, which is about 36 minutes faster than the nearest competitor in our roundup and an hour and a half faster the slowest, Norton 360. Obviously, your speeds may vary depending on your PC’s specs, but if scan-time is precious to you (as it should be) Webroot is the one for you.

Add-Ons/Features

If  the long list of malware and antivirus protection and eye-popping performance numbers aren’t enticing enough for you, Webroot has also included a couple of nice add-ons to their premium suite. For one, Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete comes with a license for up to 5 different PCs, making this a great value for household’s with multiple systems. Additionally, Webroot includes 25GB of online storage space to backup your critical data. Though, this may not be enough to back up your PC completely, it’s enough to keep your most critical files protected. For fully automated and complete data backup solutions, find a service that specializes in just that.

Support

Webroot claims to have one of the best support reputations in their category, offering not just phone and email (via in product links) but also Twitter and Facebook support as well. There doesn’t appear to be an option for live chat support, but for the introverts who’d rather not talk to an actual live person, Webroot does offer an extensive support community with forums and youtube tutorials, which we think is just as good.

Value EC-Award-Logo-web-res-small

At a $79.99 MSRP for one year of protection, SecureAnywhere Complete is one of the more expensive suites in our roundup, though not outrageous when you consider the fact that SecureAnywhere Complete is basically two software packages in one. But who pays retail, right? That’s why we worked so hard to secure you an amazing $50 discount if you buy through this link, bring the cost all the way down to $29.99.

For that price, you not only get the best performing solution in our roundup, but you also get protection for up to 5 PCs and 25GB of online storage, something that could cost you upwards of $50 a year if purchased separately.

Buy  SecureAnywhere Complete now to get 60% off the MSRP through this exclusive Geeky Reviews offer! Just $29.99.
